Sayyiduna Talq bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when Mukhtar of Abd al-Qays came and said: O Prophet of Allah, what do you say about a drink that we make from our fruits? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him (remained silent) until he had asked him three times. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and led us in prayer. When the prayer was completed, he said: "Where is the one who asked about the intoxicating drink? You ask me, (so listen): do not drink it, and do not give it to your Muslim brother to drink. By the One in whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), no man ever drinks it seeking intoxication except that Allah Almighty will give him wine to drink on the Day of Resurrection."
