Ibn Tikhfah al-Ghifari said: My father told me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) hosted him as a guest along with a few people, and they spent the night at his (peace and blessings be upon him) home. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out during the night and found him lying on his stomach. He (peace and blessings be upon him) nudged him with his foot and woke him, then said: "Do not lie like this, for this is the way the people of Hell lie."

Ya'ish bin Tikhfah bin Qays al-Ghifari narrates from his father, who was one of the People of the Suffah: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave an order (to distribute the guests), so one man would take one man, and another would take two men, until I remained as the fifth of five. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Come along." So we went with him (peace and blessings be upon him) to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Aishah, feed us." She brought some green herbs and we ate. Then she brought some hays (a mixture of dates, ghee and cheese), about the size of a qata bird (a small amount), and we ate. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Aishah, give us something to drink." She brought a small cup of milk and we drank. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you wish, spend the night here, and if you wish, go to the mosque." We said: "We will go to the mosque." Then, while I was lying on my stomach, a man began to move me with his foot and said: "This is a way of lying that Allah dislikes." I looked, and it was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Ya'ish bin Tihfah (or Tikhfah) narrates from his father, who was one of the People of the Suffah: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would look at the common people and say: "So-and-so, take so-and-so and host him as your guest." This continued until I remained with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as the fifth of five. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: "Go to the house." So we went with him (peace and blessings be upon him) and entered the house of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and this was before the command of the veil was revealed. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Aishah, feed us." She brought some green herbs and we ate. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Aishah, feed us." She brought hays (a mixture of dates, ghee and cheese) which was (in quantity) like the size of a qata bird, and they all ate. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Aishah, give us something to drink." She brought a bowl containing water mixed with milk, and they all drank. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: "If you wish, spend the night here, and if you wish, go to the mosque." We said: "No, rather we will go to the mosque," for we did not like to burden the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So I slept in the mosque. Then, while I was lying on my stomach, a man came to me and moved me with his foot and said: "Turn over like this, for this is a sleep that Allah Almighty dislikes." I looked, and it was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
