حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا أَبِي أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ لُوَيْنَ، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنِي الْقَاسِمُ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْأَكْلُ فِي السُّوقِ دَنَاءَةٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eating in the marketplace is a sign of low character."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: تَدَلَّى عَبْدٌ مِنْ حِصْنِ الطَّائِفِ، فَجَاءَ مَوْلَاهُ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، رُدَّ عَلَيَّ غُلَامِي، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا أَسْلَمَ قَبْلَ مَوْلَاهُ لَمْ يُرَدَّ إِلَيْهِ، وَإِذَا أَسْلَمَ الْمَوْلَى، ثُمَّ أَسْلَمَ الْعَبْدُ دُفِعَ إِلَيْهِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a slave came down from the fortress of Ta'if, and then his master came and said: O Messenger of Allah, have my slave returned to me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a slave accepts Islam before his master, he is not returned to him; and if the master accepts Islam and then the slave accepts Islam, he is handed back to him."
