حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعَدَةُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَطَّارُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْوَاقِدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «خَدَرُ الْوَجْهِ مِنَ النَّبِيذِ تَتَنَاثَرُ مِنْهُ الْحَسَنَاتُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shaybah bin Abi Kathir al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Numbness of the face from nabidh: good deeds scatter away because of it."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَرَّاقُ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ الْقَطَوَانِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ شَيْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ أُدَاعِبُ امْرَأَتِي فَأَثْرَى فِي يَدِي، فَمَاتَتْ، وَذَلِكَ فِي غَزْوَةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَبُوكًا، فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ عَنِ امْرَأَتِي الَّتِي أَصَبْتُهَا خَطَأً، فَقَالَ: «لَا تَرِثْهَا»
Sayyiduna Shaybah bin Abi Kathir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was playing with my wife when she was struck by my hand and died. This happened during the campaign of Tabuk with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So I came to him (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him (peace and blessings be upon him) about my wife whom I had harmed by mistake, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will not inherit from her."
