حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، أنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ثنا الرَّازِيُّ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، قَالَ: حَفِظْتُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اثْنَتَيْنِ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ، وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ، وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ، ثُمَّ لِيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I have preserved two things from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has prescribed excellence (ihsan) in everything. So when you kill, kill in a good manner, and when you slaughter, slaughter in a good manner; and let one of you sharpen his blade, then let him give ease to the animal he slaughters."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، قَالَ: خَصْلَتَانِ سَمِعْتُهُمَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ كَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ، وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ، وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ، وَلْيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: There are two things that I heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah has prescribed excellence (ihsan) in everything. So when you kill, kill in a good manner, and when you slaughter, slaughter in a good manner; and let one of you sharpen his blade, and let him give ease to the animal he slaughters."

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى كَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ، وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ، وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ، وَلْيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ»

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا هُشَيْمٌ، وَخَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، قَالَ: حَفِظْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَصْلَتَيْنِ: «إِنَّ اللهَ كَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ. . .» فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ.
Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I have preserved two things from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "Indeed, Allah has prescribed excellence (ihsan) in everything" - and the narrator went on to mention a hadith similar to it.
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، قَالَ: اثْنَتَانِ حَفِظْتُهُمَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ. . .» فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I have preserved two things from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is One who does good (Muhsin) and loves excellence (ihsan). So when you kill, kill in a good manner, and when you slaughter, slaughter in a good manner; and let one of you sharpen his blade, then let him give ease to the animal he slaughters."
