Abu al-Ashath al-Sanani from Shaddad (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 7092 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Indeed

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَخْرَمُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي الْحَارِثِ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ، وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ، وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ، وَلْيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has prescribed excellence (ihsan) in everything. So when you kill, kill in a good manner, and when you slaughter, slaughter in a good manner; and let one of you sharpen his blade, and let him give ease to the animal he slaughters."
