حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ رَاشِدٍ الْعَمِّيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمْرَانَ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ الْجَرْمِيُّ، عَنْ سَوَادَةَ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ الْجَرْمِيِّ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَمَرَ لِي بِذَوْدٍ، وَقَالَ لِي: «عَلَيْكَ بِالْخَيْلِ، فَإِنَّ الْخَيْلَ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ»
Sayyiduna Sawadah bin al-Rabi' al-Jarmi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that I be given a few camels (as a gift), and said: "Keep horses, for goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمْرَانَ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ الْجَرْمِيُّ، عَنْ سَوَادَةَ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ، قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا»
Sayyiduna Sawadah bin al-Rabi' al-Jarmi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw a ring on the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَوْضِيُّ، ثنا مُرَجَّى بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، ثنا سَلْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سَوَادَةَ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهَ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَأَمَرَ لِي بِذَوْدٍ، قَالَ: «إِذَا رَجَعْتَ إِلَى بَيْتِكَ، فَقُلْ لَهُمْ فَلْيُحْسِنُوا أَعْمَالَهُمْ، وَمُرْهُمْ فَلْيُقَلِّمُوا أَظْفَارَهُمْ، وَلَا يَخْدِشُوا بِهَا ضُرُوعَ مَوَاشِيهِمْ إِذَا حَلَبُوا»
Sayyiduna Sawadah bin al-Rabi' al-Jarmi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that I be given a few camels, and said: "When you return to your home, tell them to make their deeds good, and command them to trim their nails and not to scratch the udders of their livestock with them when they milk."
