حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، وَابْنِ أَبِي سَبْرَةَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ، قَالَ: «خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ حَتَّى أَدْرَكْنَا بِالصَّهْبَاءِ وَبَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ خَيْبَرَ رَوْحَةٌ دَعَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْقَوْمَ بِأَزْوَادِهِمْ، فَمَا أُتِيَ إِلَّا بِسَوِيقٍ، فَلَاكَ وَلُكْنَا، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَمَضْمَضَ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ»

Sayyiduna Suwayd bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) towards Khaybar, until we reached al-Sahba', and between it and Khaybar there was only a rawhah (a short distance). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called for the people's provisions, and nothing was brought except sawiq (barley meal). He (peace and blessings be upon him) chewed it and we chewed it too. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, rinsed his mouth, and then led the Zuhr and Asr prayers.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أنا مَالِكٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، أَنَّ سُوَيْدَ بْنَ النُّعْمَانِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ «خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ خَيْبَرَ , حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِالصَّهْبَاءِ، وَهِيَ مِنْ أَدْنَى خَيْبَرَ، نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِالْأَزْوَادِ، فَلَمْ يُؤْتَ إِلَّا بِالسَّوِيقِ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ فَثُرِّيَ، فَأَكَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَكَلْنَا، ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْمَغْرِبِ، فَمَضْمَضَ وَمَضْمَضْنَا، ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ» ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ الْقَعْنَبِيِّ

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suwayd bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that he set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the year of Khaybar, until, when we reached al-Sahba', which is the nearest point to Khaybar, he (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted and led the Asr prayer. Then he called for the provisions, and nothing was brought except sawiq (barley meal). He (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the order and it was moistened, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ate and we ate too. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up for the Maghrib prayer; he rinsed his mouth and we rinsed our mouths too, then he led the prayer and did not perform fresh ablution. (These are the words of al-Qa'nabi's narration.)

Hadith 6427

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَابَلُتِّيُّ، ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سُوَيْدُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ، قَالَ: «خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ خَيْبَرَ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ بِالصَّهْبَاءِ وَصَلَّيْنَا الْعَصْرَ دَعَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَزْوَادِ الْقَوْمِ، فَجَاءُوا بِسَوِيقٍ، فَأَكَلُوا وَشَرِبُوا، ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى صَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ، فَمَضْمَضَ وَمَضْمَضَ الْقَوْمُ» ، وَصَلُّوا وَلَمْ يَزِيدُوا عَلَى ذَلِكَ

Sayyiduna Suwayd bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the year of Khaybar. When we reached al-Sahba' and had prayed Asr, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called for the people's provisions. They brought sawiq (barley meal), and everyone ate and drank. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up for the Maghrib prayer; he (peace and blessings be upon him) rinsed his mouth and the people rinsed their mouths too, and they prayed and did nothing (no ablution) beyond that.

Hadith 6428

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي بُشَيْرُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، مَوْلَى الْأَنْصَارِ أَنَّ سُوَيْدَ بْنَ النُّعْمَانِ، وَهُوَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُمْ " خَرَجُوا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ، قَالَ: حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِالصَّهْبَاءِ، وَهِيَ عَلَى رَوْحَةٍ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ دَعَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِطَعَامٍ، فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ غَيْرُ سَوِيقٍ، فَأَكَلْنَا، ثُمَّ شَرِبْنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَاءِ، ثُمَّ مَضْمَضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى "

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suwayd bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he (and the other Companions) set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) towards Khaybar. He said: Until, when we reached al-Sahba', which is a rawhah's distance from Khaybar, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called for food, but nothing was found except sawiq (barley meal). We ate it and then drank water after it. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) rinsed his mouth, stood up, and led the prayer.

Hadith 6429

حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ: " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ، فَنَزَلَ مَنْزِلًا قَرِيبًا مِنْهَا يُقَالُ لَهُ: الصَّهْبَاءُ، فَدَعَا أَصْحَابَهُ بِمَا بَقِيَ مِنْ زَادِهِمْ، فَلَمْ يَأْتُوهُ إِلَّا بِسَوِيقٍ، فَخَلَطَهُ، وَأَكَلَ، ثُمَّ تَمَضْمَضَ، فَقَامَ، فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ، وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ "

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suwayd bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out towards Khaybar and stopped at a place near it called al-Sahba'. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the Companions for what remained of their provisions, and they brought him (peace and blessings be upon him) nothing but sawiq (barley meal). He (peace and blessings be upon him) mixed it (with water) and ate, then rinsed his mouth, stood up and led the Maghrib prayer, and did not perform fresh ablution.

Hadith 6430

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ، قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ.

A similar narration is also reported from Sayyiduna Suwayd bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him), that they set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) towards Khaybar.

Hadith 6431

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , نَحْوَهُ.

This same narration of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported likewise from Sayyiduna Suwayd bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hadith 6432

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ غَزَا خَيْبَرَ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ.

Sayyiduna Suwayd bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the year of the expedition to Khaybar; then he narrated the like of it.
