حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا عَطَّافُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «غَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا، وَرَوْحَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا، وَمَوْضِعُ سَوْطٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا»
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Setting out in the morning in the path of Allah is better than the world and everything in it; setting out in the evening in the path of Allah is better than the world and everything in it; and a place the size of a whip in Paradise is better than the world and everything in it."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا عَطَّافُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا أَبُو حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ "
A similar hadith is also narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him).
