حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ ذِي حُدَّانَ، أَنَّ سَهْلَ بْنَ حُنَيْفٍ قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حُجَّاجًا فَأَهْلَلْنَا بِالْحَجِّ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intending Hajj, and we pronounced the talbiyah for Hajj. Then, when we reached Makkah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to make it an Umrah.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، وَالْقَاسِمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ ذِي حُدَّانَ، أَنَّ سَهْلَ بْنَ حُنَيْفٍ، كَانَ يَقُولُ: مَا رَأَيْتُ مِثْلَ مَنْ لَمْ يَتَّهِمْ رَأْيَهُ، «خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حُجَّاجًا، فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً»
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: I have never seen anyone (more at loss) than one who does not hold his own opinion suspect. We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intending Hajj; then, when we reached Makkah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to make it an Umrah.
