حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، قَالَا: ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ يَسِيرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ فَقُلْتُ: أَخْبِرْنِي مَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي الْحَرُورِيَّةِ، قَالَ: أُخْبِرُكَ مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، لَا أَزِيدُكَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئًا، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ فَقَالَ: «يَخْرُجُ مِنْ هَهُنَا، وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ، قَوْمٌ يَقْرَأُونَ الْقُرْآنَ، لَا يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ، يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ كَمَا يَمْرُقُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ»
Yusayr bin Amr says: I went to Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Tell me what you heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say about the Haruriyyah (the Khawarij). He said: I will tell you only what I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); I will not add anything to it. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), pointing with his hand, say: "From here" (and he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his hand) "people will emerge who will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will pass out of Islam just as an arrow passes through the game."
حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْمَازِنِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حِسَابٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي، ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، قَالُوا: ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، ثنا يَسِيرُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِسَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ: هَلْ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي الْخَوَارِجِ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ وَأَهْوَى بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ الْعِرَاقِ: «يَخْرُجُ بَيْنَهُمْ قَوْمٌ يَقْرَأُونَ الْقُرْآنَ، لَا يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ، يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ كَمَا يَمْرُقُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ»
Yusayr bin Amr relates: I asked Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him): Did you hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say anything about the Khawarij? He said: I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say, while he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his hand towards Iraq: "From among them people will emerge who will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will pass out of the religion just as an arrow passes through the game."
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنَا الْعَوَّامُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ، ثنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، عَنْ يَسِيرَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ بِيَدِهِ: «يَخْرُجُ قَوْمٌ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْمَشْرِقِ مُحَلَّقَةً رُءُوسُهُمْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), pointing with his hand, said: "People will emerge from the direction of the east whose heads will be shaven."
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي، ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، قَالُوا: أَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ يَسِيرَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ سَهْلَ بْنَ حُنَيْفٍ قُلْتُ: أَسَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّهَا حَرَامٌ آمِنٌ، إِنَّهَا حَرَامٌ آمِنٌ»
Yusayr bin Amr relates: I asked Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him): Did you hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say anything about Madinah? He said: I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "It is a sanctuary, a place of safety; it is a sanctuary, a place of safety."

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), while he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his hand towards Madinah, say: "It is a sanctuary, a place of safety."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about Madinah, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is a sanctuary, a place of safety; it is a sanctuary, a place of safety."
