It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd bin al-Atwal (may Allah be pleased with him) that his brother died and left three hundred dirhams and a family. I wanted to spend this money on his children, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your brother is held back because of his debt, so pay off the debt on his behalf." So I paid off his debt, then I said: O Messenger of Allah, I have paid everything on his behalf except two dinars which a woman has claimed, who has no proof. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give them to her, for she is truthful."

Wasil bin Abdullah bin Badr bin Asl bin Abdullah bin Sa'd bin al-Atwal said: My father, Abdullah bin Badr, told me that Abdullah bin Sa'd used to go out to his companions in Tustar and visit them; he would stay on the day of his arrival and the second day, and leave on the third. It would be said to him: If only you would stay longer. He would say: I heard my father say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade me tha'nawah (that is, settling in the lands of kharaj); so whoever stays in the lands of kharaj has committed tha'nawah, and I dislike to stay.
