حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ، أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ جُمْهُورِ التِّنِّيسِيُّ السِّمْسَارُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ ذُؤَيْبٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَكْتُبُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لِي: " اكْتُبْ {لَا يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ} [النساء: ٩٥] {وَالْمُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ} [النساء: ٩٥] " فَجَاءَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَحَبُّ الْجِهَادَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، وَلَكِنْ بِي مِنَ الزَّمَانَةِ مَا تَرَى، ذَهَبَ بَصَرِي، قَالَ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ: فَثَقُلَتْ فَخِذُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى فَخِذِي حَتَّى خَشِيتُ أَنْ يَرُضَّهَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: {لَا يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ غَيْرُ أُولِي الضَّرَرِ وَالْمُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ} [النساء: ٩٥]
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I used to write down the revelation for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Write: 'Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home) and those who strive in the way of Allah'" [Surah al-Nisa: 95]. Just then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) came and said: O Messenger of Allah, I love striving in the way of Allah, but I have the disability that you see; my sight has gone. Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Then the thigh of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became so heavy upon my thigh that I feared it would be crushed. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), other than those who are disabled, and those who strive in the way of Allah" [Surah al-Nisa: 95].
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ ذُؤَيْبٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade praying after Asr.
