حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدُوسِ بْنِ كَامِلٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ قَالَا: ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قُسَيْطٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: «قَرَأْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِـ النَّجْمِ فَلَمْ يَسْجُدْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: "I recited Surah al-Najm in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not prostrate."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، «أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ غِلْمَانًا قَدْ أَلْجَئُوا ثَعْلَبًا إِلَى زَاوِيَةٍ، فَطَرَدَهُمْ عَنْهُ» وَقَالَ مَالِكٌ: " لَا أَعْلَمُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: فِي حَرَمِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصْنَعُ هَذَا "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw some boys who had cornered a fox, so he drove them away from it.
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I believe he said: "Is this done in the sanctuary (haram) of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (Madinah)?"

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ شَرِيكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي نَمِرٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: بِئْسَ الشَّيْءُ الْإِمَارَةُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «نِعْمَ الشَّيْءُ الْإِمَارَةُ لِمَنْ أَخَذَهَا بِحَقِّهَا وحَلَّهَا، وَبِئْسَ الشَّيْءُ الْإِمَارَةُ لِمَنْ أَخَذَهَا بِغَيْرِ حَقِّهَا فَتَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ حَسْرَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Leadership (governance) is an evil thing. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leadership is an excellent thing for one who takes it by its right and in a lawful way, and leadership is an evil thing for one who takes it without right; it will then be a source of regret for him on the Day of Resurrection."
