It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: A man said in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "Al-hamdu lillahi kathiran tayyiban mubarakan fih" (All praise is for Allah, abundant, pure and blessed praise). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who said these words?" The man fell silent, thinking that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had come upon something he disliked. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who is he? For he said nothing but what is right." The man said: O Messenger of Allah, I said it, hoping for good by it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose Hand is my soul, I saw thirteen angels racing one another to take up these words of yours (to Allah), each trying to be the one to raise them to Allah, the Blessed and Exalted."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Abu Ayyub, shall I not teach you something?" I said: Certainly. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you reach the morning, say ten times: 'La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, la sharika lah' (There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone, He has no partner; to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise; He has no partner). No Muslim servant says it ten times but Allah records ten good deeds for him and erases ten evil deeds from him, and these words will be better with Allah on the Day of Resurrection than freeing ten slaves; and whoever says these words in the evening will receive a reward like that as well."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I prepared food for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), enough to suffice the two of them, and took it to them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Go and invite thirty of the notables of the Ansar to me." This weighed heavily upon me; I said (to myself): I have nothing more than this. It was as if I became somewhat inattentive, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said again: "Go and invite thirty of the notables of the Ansar to me." So I invited them, and when they came he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat." They ate until they were satisfied and left; then they testified that he was the Messenger of Allah, and pledged allegiance to him before going out. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go and invite sixty of the notables of the Ansar to me." Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah, inviting sixty felt even easier to me than thirty. So I invited them, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wait a little." They ate until they were satisfied and left; then they testified that he was the Messenger of Allah, and pledged allegiance to him before going out. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go and invite ninety of the Ansar to me." (Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him)) said: Now inviting ninety and sixty felt even easier to me than thirty. So I invited them, and they ate until they were satisfied and left; then they testified that he was the Messenger of Allah, and pledged allegiance to him before going out. Thus one hundred and eighty men ate from that food of mine, all of them from the Ansar.
