Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 4076 — the Ansar cast lots over their homes

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Ansar cast lots over their homes as to which of them would host the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the lot fell to Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him), so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed with him. It was the practice of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that whenever food was given to him as a gift, he would eat some of it and then send the rest to us.
