حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْعُكْبَرِيُّ، وَأَبُو عَقِيلٍ أَنَسُ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ أَعْيَنَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أُنَيْسَةَ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، وَالْأَسْوَدِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: «خِلَالٌ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُهُنَّ، تَرَكَهُنَّ النَّاسُ، إِحْدَاهُنَّ تَسْلِيمُ الْإِمَامِ فِي الْجَنَازَةِ مِثْلَ تَسْلِيمِهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "There were some practices that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do which the people have abandoned. One of them is that the imam should give the salam in the funeral prayer just as he gives it in the prayer."
