حَدَّثَنَا الْمُقَدَّمُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَقِيعِ، فَقَالَ: «أُفٍّ، أُفٍّ، أُفٍّ» وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُ أَحَدٌ غَيْرِي، فَرَاعَنِي فَقُلْتُ: بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي، قَالَ: «صَاحِبُ هَذِهِ الْحُفْرَةِ اسْتَعْمَلْتُهُ عَلَى بَنِي فُلَانٍ، فَخَانَ بُرْدَةً، فَأُرِيتُهَا عَلَيْهِ تَلْتَهَبُ»
Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by al-Baqi' and said: "Uff, uff, uff." There was no one with him (peace and blessings be upon him) except me, so I became alarmed and said: May my father and mother be sacrificed for you. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I appointed the occupant of this pit as a collector over such-and-such a tribe. He embezzled a cloak, and I was shown it blazing upon him."
