حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ النَّظَائِرَ الَّتِي كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ بِهِنَّ فِي رَكْعَةٍ - ثُمَّ قَامَ عَبْدُ اللهِ أَخَذَ بِيَدِ عَلْقَمَةَ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا عَلْقَمَةُ، فَقُلْنَا لَهُ: أَخْبَرَكَ بِالنَّظَائِرِ؟ فَقَالَ: قَالَ: الْعِشْرُونَ الْأُوَلُ مِنَ الْمُفَصَّلِ، مِنْهَا سُورَةٌ مِنْ آلِ حم؛ الدُّخَانِ، نَظِيرَتُهَا عَمَّ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I know the surahs of similar length and theme which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite in one rak'ah - then Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and took Alqamah by the hand (and took him inside). Then Alqamah came out to us, and we asked him: Did he tell you the surahs of similar length and theme? He said: He said: The first twenty surahs of the Mufassal; among them is one surah of the Ha Mim group, namely al-Dukhan, whose counterpart is "'Amma yatasa'alun".
