Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 9687 — he said: These are the two bitter things

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أنا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: «تَانِكَ الْمُرَّتَانِ الْإِمْسَاكُ فِي الْحَيَاةِ، وَالتَّبْذِيرُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "These are the two bitter things: miserliness during life, and extravagance at the time of death."
