Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 9678 — Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud said: I

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ: قَرَأْتُ بِحِمْصَ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: مَا هَكَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ، فَدَنَوْتُ مِنْهُ فَوَجَدْتُ مِنْهُ رِيحَ الْخَمْرِ، فَقُلْتُ: أَتُكَذِّبُ بِالْحَقِّ، وَتَشْرَبُ الرِّجْسَ، «وَاللهِ لَهَكَذَا أَقْرَأَنِيهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ» لَا أَدَعُكَ حَتَّى أَضْرِبَكَ حَدًّا، قَالَ: فَضَرَبَهُ الْحَدَّ
Alqamah narrated that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I recited (the Qur'an) in Hims, and a man said: "It was not revealed like this." I went close to him and noticed the smell of wine on him, so I said: "You deny the truth and drink filth! By Allah, this is exactly how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught it to me. I will not leave you until I carry out the prescribed punishment (hadd) on you." The narrator said: So he carried out the prescribed punishment on him.
