حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: " صَلَّى بِنَا ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ فَاسْتَفْتَحَ بِسُورَةِ الْأَنْفَالِ حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ: {نِعْمَ الْمَوْلَى وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيرُ} [الأنفال: ٤٠] رَكَعَ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ بِسُورَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُفَصَّلِ "
Abd al-Rahman bin Yazid narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) led us in the Isha prayer and began the recitation with Surah al-Anfal, until, when he reached this verse: "He is the best Protector and the best Helper" [Surah al-Anfal: 40], he bowed; then in the second rak'ah he recited two surahs from the Mufassal.
