حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رُسْتَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ السَّمَّانُ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي الْحُسَامٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ حِينَ وَلَدَتْهُ فَاطِمَةُ أَرَادَتْ أَنْ تَعُقَّ عَنْهُ بِكَبْشٍ عَظِيمٍ، فَأَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: «لَا تَعُقِّي عَنْهُ بِشَيْءٍ، وَلَكِنِ احْلِقِي شَعْرَ رَأْسَهِ، ثُمَّ تَصَدَّقِي بِوَزْنِهِ مِنَ الْوَرِقِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى الْأَوْفَاضِ» ثُمَّ وَلَدَتِ الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ مِنَ الْعَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ فَصَنَعَتْ بِهِ كَذَلِكَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) gave birth to Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), she intended to perform the aqiqah for him with a large ram. She came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not perform the aqiqah for him with anything; rather, shave the hair of his head, then give silver equal to its weight in charity in the path of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, to homeless travellers." Then the following year she gave birth to Sayyiduna Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and she did the same for him.
