أسعد بن زرارة الأنصاري من بني النجار " ويكنى أبا أمامة، توفي على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في سنة إحدى من الهجرة "
As'ad bin Zurarah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), of Banu al-Najjar: his kunyah was Abu Umamah, and he died in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the first year after the Hijrah

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الشُّعَيْثِيُّ، عَنْ زُفَرَ بْنِ وَثِيمَةَ النَّصْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، أَنَّ أَسْعَدَ بْنَ زُرَارَةَ، قَالَ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: " إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَتَبَ إِلَى الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ أَنْ: يُوَرِّثَ امْرَأَةَ أَشْيَمَ الضَّبَابِيِّ مِنْ دِيَةِ زَوْجِهَا "
Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Sayyiduna As'ad bin Zurarah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him): "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote to al-Dahhak bin Qays that the wife of Ashyam al-Dibabi be given inheritance from her husband's blood money (diyah)."
