Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8753 — The greatest of the major sins are

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ أَبِي النَّجُودِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: " أَكْبَرُ الْكَبَائِرِ: الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللهِ، وَالْيَأْسُ مِنْ رَوْحِ اللهِ، وَالْقَنُوطُ مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللهِ، وَالْأَمْنُ لِمَكْرِ اللهِ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The greatest of the major sins are: associating partners with Allah, despairing of Allah's mercy, losing hope in Allah's mercy, and feeling secure from the plan of Allah."
