Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8752 — The greatest of the major sins are

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ وَبَرَةَ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " أَكْبَرُ الْكَبَائِرِ: الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللهِ، وَالْأَمْنُ مِنْ مَكْرِ اللهِ، وَالْقَنُوطُ مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللهِ، وَالْيَأْسُ مِنْ رَوْحِ اللهِ "
Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The greatest of the major sins are: associating partners with Allah, feeling secure from the plan of Allah, losing hope in Allah's mercy, and despairing of Allah's mercy."
