حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، «أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، كَانَ يُفْتِي فِي الصَّرْفِ، حَتَّى أَتَى عُمَرَ فَسَأَلَهُ فَكَرِهَهُ، فَرَجَعَ عَبْدُ اللهِ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give fatwas on the issue of sarf (currency exchange), until he came to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked him, and he disliked it.
