Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8441 — I came to the Prophet ﷺ with the head
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَأْسِ أَبِي جَهْلٍ، فَقُلْتُ: هَذَا رَأْسُ أَبِي جَهْلٍ، قَالَ: «اللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ؟» وَهَكَذَا كَانَتْ يَمِينُهُ، فَقُلْتُ: وَاللهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ، إِنَّ هَذَا رَأْسُ أَبِي جَهْلٍ، فَقَالَ: «هَذَا فِرْعَوْنُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with the head of Abu Jahl and said: "This is the head of Abu Jahl." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah, besides whom there is no god?" (and this was the manner of his (peace and blessings be upon him) oath). I said: "By Allah, besides whom there is no god, this is indeed the head of Abu Jahl." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is the Pharaoh of this Ummah."
