حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ الْفَرَّاءُ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الْمَكِّيِّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ: {إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا} [الأحزاب: ٣٣] فَدَعَا الْحَسَنَ وَالْحُسَيْنَ، وَفَاطِمَةَ فَأَجْلَسَهُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، وَدَعَا عَلِيًّا فَأَجْلَسَهُ خَلْفَ ظَهْرِهِ، وَتَجَلَّلَ هُوَ وَهُمْ بِالْكِسَاءِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «اللهُمَّ هَؤُلَاءِ أَهْلُ بَيْتِي فَأَذْهِبْ عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْسَ وَطَهِّرْهُمْ تَطْهِيرًا» فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ: وَأَنَا مَعَهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ: «وَأَنْتِ مَكَانَكِ، وَأَنْتِ عَلَى خَيْرٍ»
Sayyiduna Umar bin Abi Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This verse was revealed to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the house of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): "Allah only intends to remove all impurity from you, O people of the Household, and to purify you thoroughly" [Surah al-Ahzab: 33]. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) called Hasan, Husayn and Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with them) and seated them in front of him, and he called Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and seated him behind his back; then he himself and all of them covered themselves together with a cloak. Then he said: "O Allah! These are the people of my Household, so remove all impurity from them and purify them thoroughly." At this Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Messenger of Allah, am I also with them? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You stay in your place, and you are upon good."
