Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8134 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When you

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، أنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ثنا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُحَارِبِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ، فَلَا تَبْصُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ، وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ، وَابْصُقْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ، إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا وَإِلَّا فَتَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ» وَأَشَارَ بِرِجْلِهِ فَفَحَصَ الْأَرْضَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Tariq bin Abdullah al-Muharibi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you pray, do not spit in front of you, nor to your right; rather, spit to your left if it is clear, otherwise under your foot." And he (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his foot and scraped the ground.
