حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ، ثنا نَصْرُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ، ثنا مِنْدَلٌ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، وَعَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ: لَمَّا سَارَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ جَعَلَ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَلَى مُقَدِّمَتِهِ، فَقَالَ: «مَنْ دَخَلَ النَّخْلَ فَهُوَ آمِنٌ» فَلَمَّا تَكَلَّمَ بِهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَادَى بِهَا عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، فَنَظَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَضَحِكَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا يُضْحِكُكَ؟» ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي أُحِبُّهُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعَلِيٍّ: «إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ يَقُولُ إِنِّي أُحِبُّكَ» . قَالَ: وَبَلَغْتُ أَنْ يُحِبَّنِي جِبْرِيلُ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ، وَمَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ جِبْرِيلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى»
Ibrahim bin Bashir al-Ansari narrates from al-Dahhak al-Ansari that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out for Khaybar, he appointed Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) at the head of his army, and said: "Whoever enters the palm groves is safe." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) proclaimed it aloud. At that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked towards Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him), and he smiled. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What made you laugh?" He said: I love him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "Jibril says: I love you." He said: Have I attained the rank that Jibril loves me? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, and the One who is better than Jibril, that is, Allah Almighty."
