حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو غَالِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِنِسَائِهِ: «لَا تُبْكُوا هَذَا الصَّبِيَّ» - يَعْنِي حُسَيْنًا - قَالَ: وَكَانَ يَوْمَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، فَنَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ، فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الدَّاخِلَ، وَقَالَ لِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ: «لَا تَدَعِي أَحَدًا يَدْخُلُ عَلَيَّ» فَجَاءَ الْحُسَيْنُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، فَلَمَّا نَظَرَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْبَيْتِ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ، فَأَخَذَتْهُ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ، فَاحْتَضَنَتْهُ وَجَعَلَتْ تُنَاغِيهِ وَتُسْكِنُهُ، فَلَمَّا اشْتَدَّ فِي الْبُكَاءِ خَلَّتْ عَنْهُ، فَدَخَلَ حَتَّى جَلَسَ فِي حِجْرِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ جِبْرِيلُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ سَتَقْتُلُ ابْنَكَ هَذَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يَقْتُلُونَهُ وَهُمْ مُؤْمِنُونَ بِي؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ، يَقْتُلُونَهُ، فَتَنَاوَلَ جِبْرِيلُ تُرْبَةً، فَقَالَ بِمَكَانِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدِ احْتَضَنَ حُسَيْنًا كَاسِفَ الْبَالِ، مَهْمُومًا، فَظَنَّتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّهُ غَضِبَ مِنْ دُخُولِ الصَّبِيِّ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، جُعِلْتُ لَكَ الْفِدَاءَ، إِنَّكَ قُلْتَ لَنَا لَا تُبْكُوا هَذَا الصَّبِيَّ، وَأَمَرْتَنِي أَنْ لَا أَدَعَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْكَ، فَجَاءَ فَخَلَّيْتُ عَنْهُ، فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهَا، فَخَرَجَ إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ وَهُمْ جُلُوسٌ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ: «إِنَّ أُمَّتِي يَقْتُلُونَ هَذَا» . وَفِي الْقَوْمِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، وَكَانَا أَجْرَأَ الْقَوْمِ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَا: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ يَقْتُلُونَهُ وَهُمْ مُؤْمِنُونَ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ، وَهَذِهِ تُرْبَتُهُ» وَأَرَاهُمْ إِيَّاهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his wives: "Do not make this child cry" — meaning Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him). The narrator said: It was the day of the turn of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), and Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) descended. the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went inside and said to Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): "Do not let anyone come in to me." Just then Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) came, and when he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the house he wanted to go in. Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) took hold of him, held him in her lap and began to soothe him and quieten him; when he cried hard, she let him go, and he went in until he sat in the lap of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At that Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) said: Your Ummah will soon kill this son of yours. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will they kill him while they believe in me?" He said: Yes, they will kill him. Then Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) took a piece of soil and said: It is the soil of such-and-such a place. the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out carrying Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) in his arms, saddened and grieved. Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) thought that he (peace and blessings be upon him) was angry because the child had come in to him, so she said: O Prophet of Allah, may I be ransomed for you, you told us not to make this child cry, and you ordered me not to let anyone come in; he came, so I let him go. He (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her no answer, but went out to his Companions, who were sitting, and said to them: "My Ummah will kill this one." Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) were also present in that gathering, and they were the boldest of the people with him. They said: O Prophet of Allah, will they kill him while they are believers? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, and here is his soil." And he showed it to them.
