Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 7981 — a man came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْبَغَوِيُّ، ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ، ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ أَوِ ابْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، اشْتَرَيْتُ مِقْسَمَ فُلَانَ، فَرَبِحْتُ عَلَيْهِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَقَالَ: «أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكَ بِمَا هُوَ أَكْثَرُ رِبْحًا؟» قَالَ: وَهَلْ يُوجَدُ؟ قَالَ: «رَجُلٌ تَعَلَّمَ آيَاتٍ» فَذَهَبَ، فَتَعَلَّمَ عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I bought the share of so-and-so and made such-and-such a profit on it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you of something that brings greater profit than that?" He said: Is there such a thing to be found? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man who learns verses." So he went and learned ten verses, then came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him.
