It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites ten verses in a night is not written among the heedless; whoever recites a hundred verses, the qunut of a night (the reward of a whole night of worship) is written for him; whoever recites two hundred verses is written among the devoutly obedient; whoever recites four hundred verses is written among the worshippers; whoever recites five hundred verses is written among the guardians; whoever recites six hundred verses is written among the humble; whoever recites eight hundred verses is written among the lowly before Allah; whoever recites a thousand verses, in the morning he will have the reward of a qintar (a very great treasure), and a qintar is one thousand two hundred uqiyahs, and one uqiyah is better than what is between the heavens and the earth (or he said: than everything on which the sun rises); and whoever recites two thousand verses will be among those for whom Paradise becomes obligatory."
