حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، ثنا عَبْثَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ سَوَّارٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ، أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَأْكُلُ، فَقَالَ: «هَلُمَّ» فَقَالَ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، فَقَالَ: «هَلُمَّ أُحَدِّثْكَ، إِنَّ اللهَ وَضَعَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ الصِّيَامَ، وَشَطْرَ الصَّلَاةِ»
The narrator said: A man from among them went in to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was eating. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Come." He said: I am fasting. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Come, I will tell you: Allah Almighty has relieved the traveller of fasting and half of the prayer."
