حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْعَطَّارُ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ، قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ، فَقَالَ لِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «تَغَدَّ» فَقُلْتُ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، وَقَالَ: «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ، إِنَّ اللهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصَّوْمَ، وَنِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ»
Abu Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on returning from a journey, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Eat (the morning meal)." I said: I am fasting. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you about the traveller? Allah Almighty has relieved him of fasting and half of the prayer."
