Zirr bin Hubaysh (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Safwan bin Assal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has opened a door in the west for repentance, whose width is a journey of seventy autumns (years). He will not close it until the sun rises from its place of setting. And no man sets out in the early morning seeking knowledge except that the angels spread their wings for him, pleased with what he is doing." At that, the Arabs said: O Prophet of Allah, has Allah not given a servant a single trait that is (the) best? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Good character." Then they asked him (peace and blessings be upon him): Should we seek medical treatment? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not know that the One who sent down the disease also sent down the cure, and that no disease has been sent down without a cure being sent down for it, except one disease?" They said: O Prophet of Allah, what is it? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Old age." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The traveller wipes over his leather socks for three days, and the resident for one day and one night."
