حَدَّثَنَا أَسْلَمُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثنا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ قَالَ: «جَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ، وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ»
Sayyiduna Safwan bin Assal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set the period for wiping over the leather socks at three days and nights for the traveller and a day and a night for the resident.
