Samurah bin Sahm said: I stayed with Abu Hashim bin Utbah (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was ill, and Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to visit him, and he began to weep. Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: What makes you weep? Is it some pain that is distressing you? Or is it grief over the world? Its best has already gone. He said: Neither this nor that; rather, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me a counsel, and I wish I had acted upon it. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps you will come upon wealth that will be distributed among people, and of gathering wealth only a servant and a mount suffice you." Then I found it, and I gathered it.
