Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Usayd al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and pledged allegiance to him (peace and blessings be upon him) on emigration (hijrah). Then he fell ill, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Shaddad, what is wrong with you?" He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have fallen ill, and if I were to drink the water of al-Batha', I would be cured." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then what prevents you?" He said: "My emigration." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go, for you are an emigrant wherever you are."
