Sulayman bin Samurah from his father
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 7041 — from Sayyiduna Samurah that a man came
اُردوEn
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ يَسْتَفْتِيهِ فِي أَكْلِ الضَّبِ، فَقَالَ: «لَسْتُ آمِرًا بِهِ , وَلَا نَاهِيًا عَنْهُ أَحَدًا، غَيْرَ أَنَّا آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ لَسْنَا طَاعِمِيهِ»
Through the same chain, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked about eating the dabb (a desert lizard), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I neither command it nor forbid anyone from it, except that we, the family of Muhammad, do not eat it."
