Through the same chain, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him); he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say to us: "In this world, praiseworthy envy is only regarding two men: a man whom Allah has given abundant wealth, and he spends from it and spends a great deal, so the other says: If only I had wealth like this, I would spend as he spends, and even better; so he envies him. And a man who recites the Qur'an and stands with it in prayer at night, and beside him is a man who does not know the Qur'an, so he envies him for his standing in prayer and for the Qur'an that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has taught him, and he says: If only Allah had taught me like this, I would stand in prayer as he does."
