Through the same chain, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "The sun and the moon are not eclipsed for the death of any of you, nor for any event that you bring about; rather, they are among the signs of Allah by which He gives His servants a lesson, so that whoever fears Him and remembers Him may give thanks. So when you see any of the signs of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, hasten to the remembrance of Allah; remember Him and fear Him." And he (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in prayer on the day the sun was eclipsed, then he admonished us and reminded us, then said: "There is nothing in the world of which you have seen a colour, nor anything of Paradise and Hell of which you have been told, but it has all been shown to me in the direction of this wall since I led you in this prayer of mine; so I saw it as an image displayed on the wall of the mosque."
