حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا دُحَيْمٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي خُبَيْبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، قَالَ: «أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِذَا أَدْرَكَتْنَا الصَّلَاةُ وَنَحْنُ ثَلَاثَةٌ، أَوْ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَنْ نُقَدِّمَ لَنَا رَجُلًا مِنَّا، فَيَكُونَ إِمَامًا، وَإِنْ كُنَّا اثْنَيْنِ أَنْ نَصُفَّ جَمِيعًا»
Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us that if the time of prayer came upon us while we were three or more, we should put one of us forward to be the imam, and if we were two, we should both form a row together.
