Abu al-Muhallab, the paternal uncle of Abu Qilabah al-Jarmi, from Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْبَيَاضِ، لِيَلْبَسْهُ أَحْيَاؤُكُمْ، وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ، فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ خِيَارِ ثِيَابِكُمْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hold fast to white (cloth): let your living wear it, and shroud your dead in it, for it is among the best of your garments."
