أبو المهلب عم أبي قلابة الجرمي عن سمرة بن جندب
Abu al-Muhallab, the paternal uncle of Abu Qilabah al-Jarmi, from Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6945 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Hold fast

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الْبَيَاضِ، لِيَلْبَسْهُ أَحْيَاؤُكُمْ، وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ، فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ خِيَارِ ثِيَابِكُمْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hold fast to this white (cloth): let your living wear it, and shroud your dead in it, for it is among the best of your garments."
