حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَ أَنَسٌ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَجْلِسُ، وَيُطْرَحُ لَهُ فِرَاشٌ يَجْلِسُ عَلَيْهِ، وَيَرْمِي وَلَدَهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا يَوْمًا وَنَحْنُ نَرْمِي، فَقَالَ: «يَا بَنِيَّ، بِئْسَ مَا تَرْمُونَ» ثُمَّ أَخَذَ فَرَمَى «فَمَا أَخْطَأَ الْقِرْطَاسَ»
Thumamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) sat, a bedding would be spread out for him to sit on, and his children would practise archery in front of him. One day he came out to us while we were shooting, and said: "O my sons, how badly you are shooting!" Then he took (a bow) himself and shot, and he did not miss the target.
