Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 6740 — the Prophet ﷺ said: These requests are

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These requests are nothing but a wound with which a man wounds his face. So whoever wishes may preserve his face, and whoever wishes may leave it, except that a man asks someone in authority, or in a matter for which there is no alternative."
