Samurah bin Miyar Abu Mahdhurah al-Jumahi (may Allah be pleased with him), the muezzin of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he is Samurah bin Miyar bin Wahb bin Dumus bin Sad bin Jumah; his name is disputed, and Ibn al-Kalbi said his name was Aws bin Miyar

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْأَزْرَقُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْبُخَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ، عَنْ رَقَبَةَ بْنِ مَصْقَلَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا مَحْذُورَةَ عَنْ آخِرِ الْأَذَانِ؟ فَقَالَ: «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ»
Al-Aswad narrates: I asked Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him) about the last words of the adhan, and he said: "La ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar."
