سمرة بن معير أبو محذورة الجمحي مؤذن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وهو سمرة بن معير بن وهب بن دعموص بن سعد بن جمح، وقد اختلف في اسمه قال ابن الكلبي: اسمه أوس بن معير
Samurah bin Miyar Abu Mahdhurah al-Jumahi (may Allah be pleased with him), the muezzin of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he is Samurah bin Miyar bin Wahb bin Dumus bin Sad bin Jumah; his name is disputed, and Ibn al-Kalbi said his name was Aws bin Miyar

حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الدِّمْيَاطِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْبَيْرُوتِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ، قَالَ: «عَلَّمَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَذَانَ تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ كَلِمَةً، وَالْإِقَامَةَ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ كَلِمَةً»
Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me the adhan with nineteen phrases and the iqamah with seventeen phrases.
